Accessibility statement

We want this site to work for everyone, including people using a screen reader, navigating by keyboard, or viewing at high zoom. This page describes what we have done, what we know is not yet done, and how to tell us when we have got something wrong.

The standard we target

We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA. That is a target we work towards continuously rather than a certification we claim to hold.

What we have built in

• Semantic HTML. Real headings in a logical order, real lists, real buttons and links used for their actual purposes.
• Keyboard navigation. Every interactive element is reachable and operable by keyboard, including the mobile menu and the FAQ accordions. A skip link is the first focusable item on every page.
• Visible focus. Focus outlines are never removed, and they change colour on dark surfaces to stay visible.
• Contrast. Colours were chosen to meet or exceed AA contrast ratios for body text and interface elements.
• Forms. Every field has a real associated label. Errors are announced, described in text rather than colour alone, and linked to the field they belong to.
• Reduced motion. Animation and smooth scrolling are disabled for anyone whose system requests reduced motion.
• Zoom and reflow. Type and spacing use relative units, so the site reflows rather than breaking at high zoom.
• Works without JavaScript. All content is in the initial HTML, and the quote form submits and works with JavaScript disabled.
• Touch targets. Interactive controls meet minimum target sizes, which matters on the mobile action bar.
