Privacy policy

This policy describes what this website actually does with your information. It is written to be read rather than to be impenetrable.

What we collect

Only what you send us. This site has no user accounts, no login and no tracking pixels.

When you submit the quote form, we receive the fields you complete: your name, phone number, and optionally your email address, ZIP code, vehicle year, make, model, VIN, a description of the damage, and your preferred appointment timing.

Our web host records standard server logs — IP address, timestamp, requested URL and user agent. These are generated by the hosting infrastructure, not by us, and are used for security and troubleshooting.

Why we collect it

• To prepare an accurate quote for your vehicle.
• To contact you about that quote and schedule the work.
• To provide documentation to your insurer if you ask us to.
• To prevent automated spam submissions.

We do not use your details for marketing unless you ask us to, and we do not sell or rent your information to anyone.

About your VIN

The VIN is optional. We ask for it because it identifies your exact glass specification, which is what lets us quote a price that does not change later.

A VIN identifies a vehicle rather than a person, but it is associated with you once you send it to us. We use it only to identify parts and calibration requirements. If you would rather not send it, use the year, make and model fields instead — the quote will be less precise and may need revising.

How long we keep it

Quote submissions are retained while we are dealing with your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards for warranty and record-keeping purposes. You can ask us to delete your record at any time.

Who else sees it

The quote form is handled by FormSubmit, a third-party service that receives what you type and forwards it to us by email. That means everything you put in the form — your name, phone number, email address, ZIP code, vehicle details and any photographs you attach — passes through their systems on the way to us. They act as a processor for that delivery; what happens on their side is governed by their own privacy terms, linked above.

We use them because a form that reliably reaches us is worth more to you than one that quietly fails, and ours did quietly fail for a period after launch. If you would rather not send details through a third party, call (469) 200-4801 and we will take them directly.

Your submission is then emailed to Glass Genie. It may also be forwarded to a customer management system we operate.

Beyond that, we share information with third parties only where necessary to do the work you asked for — for example, providing documentation to your insurer at your request, or ordering the correct glass from a supplier — or where we are legally required to. We do not sell it, and we do not hand it to anyone for their own marketing.

Cookies and advertising

This website loads one third-party script, the Google tag, which serves two purposes: Google Analytics, which counts visits and shows us which pages get used, and Google Ads, which credits a quote request to the advert that brought you here. Between them they set three cookies on this domain and tell Google which page you are on and where you arrived from. Fonts are self-hosted, so no request is made to a third-party font service when you load a page.

The Google Ads part also contacts Google’s advertising network, which is what lets Google show you our adverts on other sites afterwards. That is remarketing rather than measurement, and you can opt out of it — see below.

When you submit the quote form, Google is told that a quote request happened. It is not told your name, phone number, email address, vehicle or what you wrote — those go only to us, by email, as described above.

There is no Tag Manager container and no social media pixel. The cookie policy lists exactly what is set, for how long, and how to switch it off. If you would rather we did not process your information for advertising, email us and we will action it.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Form submissions are validated and sanitised on the server. Access to submitted data is limited to people who need it to do the work.

No system is perfectly secure. Please do not send payment card details, government identification numbers or other highly sensitive information through the quote form — we never need them to prepare a quote.

Your choices

You can ask us to:

• tell you what information we hold about you;
• correct anything that is wrong;
• delete your record, where we are not required to keep it;
• stop contacting you.

Children

This site is intended for adults arranging vehicle services. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
